About me
I was born and raised in Crevacuore, a tiny village in the foothills of the Alps in NW Italy. After high school I left the country to enroll at the University of Edinburgh, where I received my B.Sc. with Honours in Geophysics and Meteorology. I later joined the Institut für Meteorologie at the Freie Universität Berlin as a GeoSim Fellow and worked for two years with Prof. Uwe Ulbrich. In 2016 I moved to Seattle where I met Prof. Shuyi Chen and decided to pursue a Ph.D. under her advising. In the summer of 2023 I started my post-doc tenure at the NOAA Pacific Marine Environmental Lab!
When I am not studying tropical cyclones you can find me fly fishing along the banks of some ice-cold river – and hey I tie my own flies too! If you are fisherman too get in touch and let’s go find some trout! Despite my European roots, college sports quickly became a true passion. Seeing – and being part – of the progress of our student athletes adds a lifelong connection to their success on and off the field; plus there is nothing like a fall afternoon at Husky Stadium.
